![]() ![]() ![]() It’s a massive decision and risk for me, I’m leaving one of the biggest and most loved commercial radio stations in the UK and Radio City and all the team over the years will always hold a special place in my heart Plus, the return of all those legendary dance weekend shows, all those names you know and love and a variety of music that will make you scream ‘Oh I love this one’ …. I will also be hosting a Sat night Reminisce show with Steve Cocky and you can still catch me on Sunday afternoon with ’Sunday Surgery’ from 2pm-4pm I will be hosting THE BREKKY BUTLER every weekday morning from 6am-10am (and from 9-10am you will get an hour of Reminisce Rewinds). It’s on the App (Apple and Android) it’s on the website will officially launch on DAB in November In Demand Radio is now in testing mode and YOU can listen NOW. ![]() So together with my team at In Demand we are currently in testing mode for a brand new radio station called IN DEMAND RADIO that will have no restrictions, you can choose the tunes, we can choose the tunes and it will be solely for Liverpool and The N West. ![]() Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of presenting near enough every show on Radio City from breakfast to mid-morning and drive and for that I’m truly blessedĪnyone who knows me will know that my passion is MUSIC and in recent times I have no input into the music that I’m playing on my shows and this is a reflection of how radio is with the same super safe music being broadcast on repeat across every station across the country.Īll the specialist local shows like we used to have also now been dropped and most of the time when you tune in to your local radio station you won’t hear a local voice or them anthems that connect with the people of Liverpool and I feel the time is right for me to take on a new challenge to try and bring back all things that should be great about local radio here in Liverpool It wasn’t long before the Sunday show performed well and I was asked to do Sat afternoons too and that’s where I have been on Radio City for past many years and I still thoroughly enjoy talking to you all over the airways and just being myself, loud, fun and LOCAL! It was a tough transition and one I got so much support from Radio City in learning how to adapt to changing my presenting skills. BUT I was offered a Sun afternoon and an opportunity to step into daytime presenting and playing more commercial chart hits. I won’t lie, I sobbed when I got the news and at that point, I seriously thought of walking away from the station altogether. I held my weekend dance show for over a decade, but radio has changed, and it was then that Radio City networked their weekend line up across the UK and my dance shows and my heart and soul where taken away from me. The success of this Fri night show led me onto getting a Sat night slot and Plastic surgery being on the weekends every Fri and Sat night with all those big tunes that shaped so many generations weekend – such special memories that I will treasure forever and it almost felt like 1 big family raving every weekend across the whole of Liverpool and the N West This then led on to my Fri night dance show ‘Plastic Fantastic’ which I have so many incredible memories of broadcasting to you all and all the 1000s of texts that came into the show, it really was like the start of the weekend. Nearly 2 decades ago I started a 10-minute feature called ‘What the butler Saw’ which ran at 2am on a Sun morning, that was where it all started. I have formed so many beautiful friendships that it would be impossible for me to name them all in this statement. As you may well know I decided to leave Radio City after nearly 20 years at the radio stationįirstly, I would like to thank everyone at the most amazing radio station for not only the opportunity all them years ago but all the support they have always shown me. ![]()
